Easter At Home!

We had an amazing time at home with family and friends over the Easter weekend.  Bridget and I spent Sunday afternoon at her grandmother’s house.  Ms. Millie is 91 years old and still knows how to entertain a house full of guests in style!  Ansleigh and Bryleigh took part in their first Easter Egg hunt and did extremely well.  You’ll have to check out the photos of the big event!  On Monday, Shawn and LeeAnn spent the day with the girls and took them to the park to play.  They definitely had a big time with “Uncle Shawn” and “Aunt LeeLee”!

One day last week, Ansleigh and Bryleigh decided to open the front door and go out into the yard to play… unsupervised!  Once Bridget noticed that the house was extremely quiet and the front door was open, she ran outside to find them in the yard with their Papa and Nana who live right next door! (I think that I was at least 4 or 5 years old before I ran away from home! LOL)  So now we have locks to keep the bad guys out… and latches to keep the bad girls in!   I also spent a couple of days installing nearly 200 feet of fence to keep them contained in the back yard!  That should keep us all secure for at least a few months… I hope!

As you can tell we’ve had a lot happening around our house… but what about you?  What did you do last weekend?  Any “runaway” stories you’d like to share?  We’d love to from you!

Telling The Story Of A Lifetime!

We’d like to thank Wesley Burke for putting together such a great article that was featured in the April edition of SGN Scoops Magazine.  We thought that you’d enjoying reading it as well!  And as always… please comment!

It’s a beautiful day in the small town of Munford, TN in September 1999. The main drag through town is blocked off, and the town’s fair is in full swing. An older model bus approaches the fair area, and turns in and parks in a vacant lot behind a simple wooden stage where a steady stream of local gospel artists has been performing. The name in the marquee area of the front of the bus simply says “Dills”, and off the bus comes a father and mother, their two sons, and the sons’ wives. One of the wives is a native of the small town, having graduated from the local high school, and until her marriage had sung with her own family, who would also grace the same stage during the fair. A small crowd of maybe 15-20 people sit on metal bleachers listening to the singing, while hundreds more are wandering through the booths and exhibits. The quality of music from the gospel stage hits every part of the spectrum, but when this group sings, there’s something different about them, especially when

We Want Your Opinion!

We’re constantly trying to improve the things that we’re doing as well as focus on the things that others enjoy and appreciate.  Many times we do something because we believe it is effective, but that may not always be the perception of those actually on the receiving end!  That could apply to several things that we’re doing… but for now let’s focus on one area.  For some time now we have been using video and multimedia during our concerts.  We have been limited to only using this when the church or auditorium has a video projector and screen available.  We’d love to be able to use it 100% of the time and that’s why we want your opinion!  If you have been to one of our concerts and witnessed our use of the multimedia before and during the services, we want to hear from you!  Please give us your opinion… (good or bad).  Do you think that our use of video enhances or distracts during the concert?  What could we do to improve its use during our services? Please comment below!

For some time now we have been using video and multimedia during our concerts.

God Works In Mysterious Ways!

As many of you know, we had been looking forward to sharing the stage with The Booth Brothers in Muncie, IN for quite some time.  We’ve worked with them in the past and we always have a great time!  On Saturday around lunch I received a call from their road manager to let us know that their bus had broken down about 5 hours away from Muncie.  After several hours, they finally realized they would not be able to make it for the concert!  The promoter was really concerned about how the audience would react to the news so not knowing what else to do, he just prayed for God to have His way.  We were originally planning to take part in approximately 30-45 minutes of the concert, but all of those plans quickly changed!  Our friend Russ Watson kicked off the concert at 6:00 pm with a few songs and around 6:30, we took to the stage.  We were not sure how the audience would respond considering the majority of the people had never even heard of The Dills before, but after singing just a few songs, we realized that God was in total control of the situation and He was in the midst.  Despite being faced with a challenging situation, the Spirit lead us into what turned out to be an absolutely amazing night of worship and praise.  We received so many kind words of encouragement and made lots of new friends.  We sure missed the Booth Brothers but we still did what we all came to do…  we gathered together to worship and sing praised to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and He poured out His blessings!

Can’t Think Of A Better Place!

This past Sunday night, we finished setting up for the concert at First Church of God in Winter Haven, Florida and had gone to the bus to get dressed.  Jim and Barbara Colley had arrived at the church about an hour before the concert.   He was feeling fine when he arrived… but only a few moments later, he suffered a massive heart attack.  The ambulance came and took him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead only a few hours later!  Jim came into the church with a smile on his face and I’m sure that his smile was brighter than ever when he stepped into heaven!  I can’t think of a better place to be than in church when it’s time to leave!  Jim was 85 years old!!!

It’s A Girl!

From all indications, yesterday’s ultrasound revealed that the new addition is another GIRL!  Ansleigh and Bryleigh wanted to tell everyone that they are very excited about being big sisters (despite the look on their faces in this picture)!  Tim could not be in the picture since he is still a little pale from the news!  LOL!
