Logan’s Graduation

It’s hard to believe that Logan has graduated high school. It seems just like yesterday that we brought him home from the hospital. LeeAnn and I were young and scared with such a huge responsibility of raising him. Time flies by so fast and you wish you could go back and do some things different but then again you probably wouldn’t change a thing.  We are so proud of the young man he’s turned out to be. He will begin taking classes this fall at Jackson State then plans to transfer to MTSU. He wants to get his degree as an Audio Engineer which means he will be running sound on a much larger scale than what he’s been doing for The Dills. He’ll hopefully get paid more too. LOL. Be sure to send a comment to him and pray for him as he starts this new chapter of his life.

Logan and Kaela update

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted something about Logan and Kaela, so I thought I would let you know what’s been happening. Logan is going to be a senior this year at JCS (Jackson Christian School), wow. He is playing football and the coach has challenged them not to be the smallest team next year. Needless to say Logan has taken this to heart. They have been working out everyday and he’s been eating everything in sight. I believe Logan has gained about 18 pounds the past few months. Kaela on the other hand injured her ACL playing softball, so her summer has consisted of physical therapy three times a week. They replaced her ACL using a piece of her hamstring. Sounds painful I know. She is hoping to get her leg back in shape so she can play softball this spring. She will be a freshman this year. Man I’m getting old and Tim is getting all the grey hair. Well I better stop with that note.

We will enjoy a nice holiday with our families this weekend and I hope all of you do too. Keep us in your prayers as we continue to do His work and come see us if we’re in your area.

Until next time,
Shawn

What’s Been Happening?

Well let me start by saying that I’m glad it has warmed up a little around here. Spring is my favorite time of year. Not too cold, not too hot. I would like to think that we brought some of the warm weather back with us from Florida a couple of weeks ago, but from what I heard, it warmed up when we left. Imagine that. Speaking of Florida, we had a great time seeing a lot of friends that we’ve made over the past several years. We sang for the people where mom and dad spend the winter and we got to worship with our friends at Crossroads Christian Fellowship in Sebastian. It’s always good to see Mike and Diana Lyle.  It was also our third year in a row to worship with the wonderful folks at the First Church of God in Winter Haven! After an extremely busy weekend in Florida, we got to spend this past weekend at home… which is nice every once in a while.

Those of you that follow us on Facebook already know some of this, but Kaela plays softball for JCS here in Jackson. We received a call last Tuesday afternoon from Kaela’s coach that her knee had been injured. She’s doing fine but we’re waiting on the swelling to go down and a MRI to be done. Hopefully she won’t have to have surgery but we’ll keep you informed.

Keep all of us in you prayers as we travel singing for Him. Be sure to check out the pics and try to come worship with us if you can.

God bless,
Shawn

P.S.  Don’t forget to Spring forward this weekend.

LeeAnn Graduates From Nursing School!

SONY DSC

As many of you know, LeeAnn has been in an accelerated nursing program over the past year. That means she completed 2 years of nursing school in just 12 months. It’s been a tough year for her and I’m so very proud of her. LeeAnn needed a break from all the books and studying so after graduation we left the next day for a cruise. We went to Cozumel and Calica, Mexico with our friends, Mark and Jill Wade. We had a great time in the sun. She is now studying for boards and getting ready to search for a job. Keep us in your prayers as she looks for a job that will coincide with our ministry.  Check out the pics from the graduation, the celebration afterwards and vacation.

Play Day With The Girls!

Shawn and I took the girls on a play date to the park a few weeks ago. They loved playing on the slides and eating peeps. Shawn and I even got in on the fun.  It has been a while since we had little ones to take to the park and play with. I had forgot how much fun toddlers can be.  After a few hours we took them to lunch at Fazoli’s.  They love alfredo noodles and garlic bread!  Oh yea, can’t forget the tea.  They love to drink tea.  I can’t wait for our next play date.  We have also posted a video of our time together hope you enjoy it!

LeeAnn Dill

An answered prayer

As many of you know, LeeAnn has been a dental hygentist for the past ten years. Since we relocated to Jackson from Covington 5 years ago, she has tried to find a job that would be flexible with our ministry schedule, but nothing ever materialized. With much prayer, she started checking into the accelerated BSN nursing program at Union University here in Jackson. Our prayer was that if it was God’s will, the doors would open. She received a letter in the mail today that said “congratulations, it is a pleasure to inform you that you have been accepted into the program.” There were only 36 people chosen, so needless to say, I am very proud. Her classes will begin in January 2010 and she will graduate in December 2010, so that will be a pretty intense schedule.

Now as Tim stated in a previous e-mail, this does not mean that we will be looking for someone to fill her position with the group. I have been chosen to sing her part if there is a date or two that she might have to miss, but I’m hoping it will be a minimal amount. We hope you will join us in praying for LeeAnn as she starts this new chapter in her life. I know there will be a lot of late nights studying, but I’m going to do the best I can to help her by staying out of the way. HAHA! Thanks to all of you, our friends, for your support in what we do and for all of your prayers as we travel from place to place. Without that, we could not go on.

Logan and Kaela

Logan and Kaela have been busy going to school, playing ball and still finding time to travel and minister with us. We seem to take our children for granted many times and don’t recognize the sacrifice they make every weekend. I want to make you a promise to post pictures and keep all of you informed about their lives as well. Let me know if I start sleeping on the job. I want to give them the credit and recognition they deserve. These pictures are from their spring sports banquet. Logan played basketball and Kaela played basketball and volleyball. I’m also going to start posting pictures on the blog photos page, so check them out.

Snow in the South

dsc01818
It’s funny to me that when snow is in the forecast, we here in the south don’t know how to function. Yesterday, for example, there was a slight chance for some mixed precip. and all the schools shut down. Needless to say it only rained, but the kids enjoyed a day off. Today, on the other hand, we woke up to a little ice and snow mix and Kaela and a friend are trying to build a snowman. I don’t know how well that’s going to work out since there’s only an inch of snow but they’re having fun.

Just thinking out loud,

Shawn
