Jesus Still Saves

I hope that you are having a great week! God has given me several opportunities over the last few weeks to see Him work in such amazing ways.  Earlier this month we were blessed to lead worship at a 1 day mission trip in El Dorado, AR.  Nearly 2,000 believers from the entire state of Arkansas joined together for the common purpose of ministering to the communities surrounding El Dorado!  They spent the entire day offering free medical and dental services, painting homes, providing free meals, hosting block parties for children and so much more… all while sharing the love of Christ!  As a result of this one day effort, 69 souls were saved!!!  I’m sure that even more decisions have been made as a result of the seeds that were planted on that day!

Over the last few months Bridget and I have been preparing to serve on a weekend called “Faithwalk”.  This is something that we both were privileged to attend in the spring and felt that we needed to give back and serve in this amazing ministry.  It is a ministry similar to “Walk to Emmaus”.  It’s a weekend designed for believers to unplug from the world, focus on their relationship with Christ and be bathed in the love of Christ like never before!  Needless to say it is a little bit of heaven on earth.  During the men’s walk, I was honored to be able to lead worship along with a dear friend, Graham Inman.  It is a weekend full of worship, testimonies, food, laughter, food, music, meditation… and did I mention food?  God really moved and worked in the lives of the guys on this weekend!  Even though this weekend is designed so Christians can strengthen their walk… 5 men accepted Christ during those 3 days, officially starting their “walk” with Christ!  Praise the Lord!!!

Ever wonder what God’s plan is for your life?  His ultimate desire is for you to live in His joy and share that joy with everyone you meet!  A friend recently told me, “Satan can’t make you bad… but he can make you busy!”  If we ever become too busy to read our Bible or spend time alone with God then we are busier than God ever intended!  Slow down, receive God’s love though His word… and then pour that love into the lives of those around you!  That’s God’s plan for us all!

We hope to see you soon!
Many Blessings,
Tim

Merry Christmas from The Dills!

Merry Christmas from The DillsWe know that this time of year finds us all way too busy and so easily distracted from real reason to celebrate Christmas.  It’s our prayer that we can all take a moment to forget about the food, gifts and busy traffic and remember that Christ is the reason to celebrate!  Thank you so much for your support of our music and ministry this year!

Merry Christmas!

Twins Start Kindergarten

Twin's 1st Day of KindergartenIt’s hard to believe this day has already arrived, but our little girls have started Kindergarten!  It seems like only yesterday we were bringing them home from the hospital!  We have struggled with the decision over the last 5 years of whether to do home-school, public school or private school… and we’ve weighed the benefits and struggles that we may face with each.  I’m sure that everyone has a personal experience they could share about the route they chose… or maybe you are facing this same decision and don’t know what to do!

As we left the girls at school on their first day, I can honestly say it’s one of the hardest things that Bridget and I have done as parents!  We’ve been blessed to be at home with them for the last 5 years (not one day of daycare) and that has been an amazing blessing!  I understand that not every parent has had that privilege, and we thank God for allowing us that time with them.  That opportunity and decision is one that I know we will never regret!

They are attending a public elementary school that we’ve heard great things about.  It’s actually the same school that Bridget attended when she was a little girl!  Also, they have already fallen in love with their teacher, Mrs. Mayo!  Our hope is that, even at the age of 5, they will be a light for Christ to those around them.  We know that there will be challenges along the way, and would appreciate your prayers for them (and us) as we begin this journey for the first time!

Mid-Year Update!

My goodness, is it July already? Where is this year going? The year 2013 is proving to be a busy but big year for the Dills in many, many ways. Here, let me catch you up…

In January, Logan turned 19 years old. He is currently taking classes at Jackson State Community College with plans of transferring to Middle Tennessee State University in the fall to study Audio Engineering.

In March, Shawn turned the big 4-0 and we couldn’t let it slip by without a small party. We planned and schemed and enlisted the help of some dear, mischievous friends. In the end, they helped us create a memorable night full of food, memories and laughs for the “old man”.

In May, Kaela celebrated her 16th birthday and Ansleigh and Bryleigh turned 5. I have been busy this week getting school supplies and uniforms so the twins can start school August 2nd!!! I still have trouble processing that thought since it seems like yesterday we were bringing them home from the hospital. Kaela got her first vehicle, a Ford Escape, and is looking forward to passing her driving test so she’ll be “mobile”. Say a prayer for her since her test is this Friday!

In June, our little Macie turned 3 years old. She is lively, funny and a sheer joy to be around. We also all took some time out of our busy schedules in June for family vacations. Shawn, LeeAnn and their kids went with LeeAnn’s family to Gulf Shores, AL for a week away while Tim, the girls, my mom and I made our first trip to Disney World. We all had a blast!

Tim and Shawn just finished another church league softball season, without injury, for which we’re all thankful. By day Tim is a financial planner/investor and Shawn is a project manager for ServPro. In their spare time, they have been busy installing sound systems in several area churches and schools (–a hobby that has almost become a part-time job). LeeAnn is a nurse at the hospital and has been working anywhere between 3 to 6 days a week all year long. And me, I’m just trying my best to stay ahead of these girls of mine and do my best to teach them right from wrong… while not going insane.

And then we’ve been singing… We’ve slowed down a bit but we’ve by no means stopped. We are excited to be heading out to Virginia this weekend and we’re looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting some new ones. Check out our schedule and come see us if we’re close! God has been so good to us and we’re so honored that He would allow us to share the Gospel with the world through music. We’re having so much fun in concert sharing the new music from our latest project, “Before the Rain”! I love all of the songs on the project but one of my absolute favorites to sing is “This Is How We Know”. I hope you’ll take a chance to sample the project and purchase it if you don’t own it yet!

Well, that hits the majority of the highlights for now… I hope this newsletter finds you doing well. We love you all and count you among our greatest blessing! Pray for us and we’ll pray for you!

Because of Him,
Bridget

Twins Turn 5!

Ansleigh and Bryleigh Turn 5!

It does not seem like it’s been 5 years, but time does fly when you’re having fun! I told someone the other day that my children may not feel older on their birthday, but I surely do! 🙂

Bridget and I tried for over 10 years to have children, so each year on their birthday we are reminded how much a blessing Ansleigh and Bryleigh are to our lives!!!  Many of you were very instrumental in praying and encouraging us during that struggle with infertility… and we are forever grateful.  Please take a moment to look at a few of the pictures from their 5th birthday party!

If you would like to leave Ansleigh and Bryleigh a message or comment below, we will be sure to share it with them.

God Bless,
Tim

Shawn Turns 40!

Everyone that knows me would expect me to share that my “older” brother celebrated his 40th Birthday on March 24th! 🙂 I always have to rub it in that he’s older than me. I guess that’s because I do seem to look older, or as I prefer to say, more mature! Ha! We have posted a few pictures from his “surprise” party, so you can check them out on our photos page!

I also wanted to be sure to get him a cool gift for this very monumental day… and since we are both huge Duck Dynasty fans I couldn’t think of anything better than a Willie Robertson beard! (I went with the Uncle Si version since it matches my hair better.) Hope this picture puts a smile on your face!

The Twins Save The Day

This weekend God taught us that even the littlest ones in His Kingdom are not without purpose in His grand scheme of things. We were also reminded that we are to do whatever we can for the kingdom, whether it’s a big job or small job, because it’s all important to God!

Sunday morning we were honored to once again lead worship at Munford Baptist Church in Munford, TN. At the conclusion the morning service, we set about our normal routine of “tearing down” the equipment and product table so we could head out for lunch and then home. Shawn went and changed his clothes, cranked the bus so the air bags could fill up and then came back in to start the loading process. A few minutes later Tim went to change and strangely found the bus door was locked! The odd thing was no one was on the bus to have locked it. After several minutes of investigating the situation, Tim realized the air lock on the door had malfunctioned and locked itself! We then realized we had NO WAY of getting on the bus! The windows weren’t an option since all of them were locked from the inside, so we scratched our heads and I whispered a desperate prayer! Without breaking a window, the only possible way into the bus was through the small 12″ x 12″ garbage chute located in the bay beneath the bus. We all looked at each other and snickered, and then Kaela suggested sending one of the twins through the garbage chute! It was a silly idea but it was our only hope! So after some slight persuasion, we finally convinced Ansleigh and Bryleigh to climb up through the small hole. Check out the photos here! Once inside the bus, they were able to open the driver’s window so Tim could reach in and disengage the lock. We were all extremely relieved and thankful to finally get on the bus and Ansleigh and Bryleigh were super excited to have saved the day!

Needless to say, the girls are having an extremely fun time telling everyone how “God made them just the right size on that day to make them fit through the garbage chute”! It’s definitely another memory we will add to our collection of “road stories” but even in the silliness of it all, God has challenged me! I’m reminded of the verse in 1 Timothy 4:12,Let no one look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in your speech, conduct, love, faithfulness, and purity.” The job they were called to perform Sunday wasn’t glamorous but it was necessary and we were all thankful that they were able and willing to answer “the call” to do what they could for us and for God. So I want to challenge you! No matter your age and no matter your calling, whether it’s taking out the trash or crawling up a garbage chute, be an example to other believers in the way you conduct yourself and do what you do for the glory of God!

Thanks again for your love, support and friendship!  We love and treasure you all!

Because of Him,

Bridget
